Grilled Beef Kebobs

Grilled Beef Kebobs

  • 2lb top sirloin
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves finely chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme (or 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme)

Step 1
For this recipe I usually use top sirloin as it is tender enough on its own, but is even more so with the marinade. Start by chopping beef into evenly sized 2 inch cubes, removing any visible fat, and place into glass dish.
Step 2
Combine marinade ingredients into a container and mix well. Pour the marinade directly over the meet and turn the meat evenly until it is well coated. Transfer to a zip lock bag or keep in the dish covered and place in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight.
Step 3
When ready to cook the kebobs remove them from the fridge. Preheat the grill to medium high. Load the meat onto the kebobs keeping them fairly tight together and leaving about 1.5" at either end for turning.
Step 4
Place the kebobs on the grill and allow them to cook evenly on each side until done to your liking. For medium rare it is usually about 10 to 12 minutes depending on the size of the beef cubes.
Step 5
Remove from grill and let them set for about 5 minutes. You can either serve them as kebob or remove the pieces and put into serving dish.
